DENISON, Texas — A new Health and Wellness Park is scheduled to be be built in Denison’s Gateway Village development, west of the U.S. Highway 75 – Spur 503 interchange.
A $7.9 million grant through the Texoma Health Foundation, a more than $3 million commitment by the City of Denison and $2 million in infrastructure improvements by Covenant Development, LLC, as well as the donation of approximately 65 acres of land, valued at $1,000,000, by the Johnson family, whom also own Covenant Development, make the park possible according to city officials.
“This will be a world-class, one-of-a-kind health and wellness park for our region,” Texas Rep. Larry Phillips said. “The park will be open for various recreational activities and includes jogging and biking trails, sports complexes and special programs for all ages. I applaud the effort to provide opportunities to have a safe place for recreation and to enrich the health of our residents here in Texoma.”
Texoma Health Foundation Park will feature space for residents to enjoy outdoor physical activity, as well as sports and games in order to promote the overall health and wellness of the community.
